Haigo Renin (拝郷蓮茵)

Renin HAIGO (1807-1892) was a scholar of Japanese classical literature in the late Edo period and the early Meiji period. He came from Kuwana County in Ise Province and later studied in Kyoto. He was commonly known as 'Takejiro,' whereas his real name and pseudonym was 'Sanemichi' and 'Baikaen,' respectively. He was an expert on waka poetry and the art of flower arranging. He died at the age of 85.
